Just another LINUX home-page.
My name is Dennis Karels. I'm a software engineer with a big interest in LINUX. I'm not an expert with LINUX (yet). I've worked with it on a couple of occasions and I like it very much. I'm about to install LINUX at home (again). On this page I will report all progress made and all problems found (along with a possible sollution if availlable).
Currently my configuration at home consist of two Windows NT 4.0 systems. One running on an Intell Celeron 350 MHz processor and the other running on a Pentium 90 processor. Along with a Intell Celeron 400 MHz notebook, running Windows '98. My intentions are to install LINUX on the Pentium 90 machine. Features to be installed are among others:
- Dial in capability (using either standard 56K6 modem and/or ISDN)
- Proxy / firewall functionality
- Networking using TCP/IP and IPX (ofcourse)
- PVM (when the system is up and running correct)
- HTTP server
- DNS server
- FTP server
- and so on.......
When I find some problems on either of these topics (or others), I will
state them on this page. Any help from a (probably) more experienced LINUX
user is always welcome, for I'm just a beginner myself.
I've worked with an older version of LINUX before and am now going
to give LINUX 6.1 a shot, as soon as the software arives.
Also I will produce a section with links to other interesting sites, for there are so many already. I'll try to keep this page as straight forward as possible, so that new users can also understand this. I don't think this will be very hard, for I am in fact a new user myself.
All comments, remarks, suggestions and help is welcome at:
